Wedding Fails – 29 big day funnies

Welcome to our Wedding Fails blog – 29 wedding fails that are bound to make you smile. The past year has seen tight restrictions and limits put on weddings thanks to COVID-19. So, it’s safe to say the only fever we want is wedding fever right now! From July 19th in the UK there are no legal restrictions on the number of people that can attend a wedding, civil partnership, reception or celebration. This is great news for all those couples who have been gagging to tie the knot!

Although the wedding certificate is the official documentation, weddings are so much more than a piece of paper. These massive occasions are a celebration of two soul mates making a lifelong bond. They are are place to gather families together for the first time. Where multiple generations come together in jubilation. Where new romance blossoms and old love birds ruffle their feathers again. You are also likely to be subject to dad dancing. Lots and lots of awkward, hilarious dad dancing. But, as anyone that’s had one will tell you, weddings don’t always go to plan.

Whether the cake collapses, the ring bearer forgets to bring the weddings bands or the bride cops off with the concierge. Weddings are a breeding ground for mishaps, slip ups and general hilarity. We hope you enjoy our list of 29 wedding fails that capture some downright funny wedding day debacles.

Wedding Fails at Creased

To start us off then, we had a think about some wedding fails the team here have witnessed at Creased.

#1 Wedding Day Fail

Joey says:

I was gearing up to celebrate the wedding day of a family member and planning a UK road trip along the way, as the wedding venue was around 300 miles away. But things were a bit touch and go due to COVID-19 restrictions. I got the all-clear the wedding was to go ahead so I put a deposit down at the car rental place. A month before the wedding things had gone a bit quiet, so I phoned a member of the family who was a bit more closely connected to events (the inquisitive mother) only to be told the wedding wasn’t going ahead.
I said frustratingly over the phone “Damn COVID! It ruins everything!”
“No.” my mum replied “They’ve split up!”
I guess lockdown either makes or breaks a couple…

#2 Wedding Fail

Ian says:

I went to a wedding years ago and the best man had one too many pints and whiskey chasers. He stood up confidently with that rosey-red cheeked one-too-many grin and started his best man speech in an expected way.
“Thanks to everyone for coming today…”
It was going well so far, then, I don’t know whether it was genuine nerves or too much booze. But he came out with…
“Congratulations to the Guide and Broom!”
Needless to say, he could have done with his own guide to be ushered away and swept out of that excruciatingly awkward moment. He may have even been doing it as a joke, but either way, I’ll always do a quick mental double-check when I have to say ‘Bride and Groom’ now!

Love your cheesy jokes and want to show the bride and groom just how funny you are?
Check this one out and share your hopeful happiness for the couple to be cheddar forever!
